Given thresher diameter as 2.6 meters revolving at 22 rpm. Calculate the capacity of the thresher :
Knowing Data :
Bulk density of sterilized ffb, b = 0.32 tonne/m3
Thresher rpm = 22
Thresher diameter = 2.6 m
Loading factor, k = 0.05
Forward travel of bunches = 0.5 m
Calculation :
Rate of travel of bunches,
V = 22 x 0.5 m/min = 660 m/hr
Cross sectional area of the material in the thresher,
a = (22/7 x 2.6 x 2.6 / 4) x 0.05 = 0.2656 m3
Thresher capacity, T = a x b x V tonnes / hour
= 0.2656 x 0.32 x 660
= 56 tonnes / hour

Can you pls advise my doubts as follows:
1. The travel velocity of SFB = 0.5m/s
2. the rpm of thresher 22 rpm
